FEATHERS IN WOOD

Welcome to RWK Woodcarving!
Ever since childhood I’ve had a fascination with carving wood with a knife. Finally, when I was in high school I came across a book on whittling and a shop teacher that was interested in helping me get started. Basically though, I am a self taught wood carver, and have been woodcarving now for more than 40 years. Over the years I have won numerous blue ribbons for my work at various woodcarving competitions around the country. Today my carvings are found in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Afghanistan and Australia. I enjoy carving all kinds of subjects…usually whatever strikes me at the time…but my favorites are caricatures, wizards and Santas. Most of my pieces are carved from basswood, butternut or poplar which are non-toxic, renewable resources here in the United States. Everything I carve is hand carved with just a carving knife and sometimes with a small hand gouge…no power tools are ever used. My phone number is 201-218-8358. Feel free to contact me anytime. I also welcome custom orders so if you don't see what you want don't be afraid to ask. I appreciate your interest in my work and hope you enjoy browsing through my shop. I will try to add new items frequently so stop by often. Thank you for visiting http://www.woodcarver3787.etsy.com/ |

Little ShaversKathy's Cross Pattern and blank
This is one of several blanks that you can purchase. But there is so much more. They are really teachers and there truly is a little bit of everything as relates to wood.
