I do have a wide range of surfaces in stock. You do not need to buy anything at these external sites unless you so choose. If I do not have it in stock, I will be happy to order it for you. Cottonwood Bark
Cottonwood bark is a favorite material among many carvers. It is one of the easiest materials to carve because it is soft and uniform in texture. It does have a unique grain structure and therefore it requires some special techniques and sharp tools. Because Cottonwood Bark is a natural material, and variety is part of the appeal, no two pieces are alike. We sell bark in several different sizes (dimensions are approximate). Xtra Large-24 long, 4 wide and 3 1/2 thick Large-24 long, 2-3 wide and 2 1/2-3 thick Medium-12 long, 3-5 wide and 3-3 1/2 thick Small-12 long, 2-4 wide and 2-3 thick Slivers-Small pieces that are perfect for practice or small projects, 8-11 long, 1-2 wide and 1 1/2-2 1/2 thick

Large, Thick Basswood
This is one of the best traditional carving woods. It is creamy white in color, uniform in density and texture and easy to carve with the ability to hold fine lines. Our basswood is carefully selected from prime logs, sawed to our specifications, then kiln dried and cut into carving blocks. Thicker dimensions also make them suitable for wood-burned freestanding plaques.
