Small, med or large, bass-wood round, plank or wood panels. If there is a knot or other marking, will work the image around it or work image into it. Whichever is feasible.
2. Rough Sketch of Ideas
I did two sketch-es. One has the border all the way across the top and name in single line. Second sktech, top design is split with Flying "T" Earrings on 3 lines.
3. Sand Both Sides

7. Trace Image to Wood Surface
Traced onto bass-wood log round and ready to begin burning. If you want me to sign and date your sign or if you want to have a message burned to the back side, it would be done at this state of the process.
10. Burn and Color
Burn desired areas. Erase surface of any remain-ing graphite marks. Apply color if color has been requested.
11. Set Color With Turpenoid
Appli-cation of tur-penoid to the color re-duces the chance of smear-ing. Care must be taken in the applica-tion. If too much turpenoid is applied, it can saturate the wood beyond the colored boundary, carrying the color with it. I learned that the hard way. :P
12. Apply Desired Finish
13. Affix Desired Hardware, If Any
If your sign is a custom order, I re-commend that you do this yourself. It is not difficult. Here is my reasoning. Much time and effort has gone into making your perfect sign. You may have an idea of where you want the sign to go, but you may change your mind. A change of locations may mean a change in how you want to hang it. Drilled holes can be "undone" with plastic wood, sanding and refinishing, but it's a lot of work. I am happy to do this for you, but in doing so, please keep this in mind. Some who prefer a more rustic look opt for jute.
14. Pack It Up and Send It On Its Way
Custom work re-quires a 50% down pay-ment prior to begin-ning the work. Nothing is applied to wood without customer's final design approval. The balance is due prior to shipping. We are always anxious to see how it looks in its new home and encourage feedback and hopefully an "On Location" picture to add to our gallery.
We hope they like it and await feedback and a pic on location!
