Wood burned, colored with oil pencil, homemade beads, turquoise, leather and turkey feathers.
Images from top to bottom; The moon (12) and the white stars are 5 minute markers on the top half of the clock. Following these to the outer circumference, each 5 minute marker also has an authentic Native American symbol around the entire circumference of the clock. The turquoise outermost circle has every minute marked with a wood burned arrowhead pattern. There is one large mesa and 4 smaller mesas, the sacred white buffalo and two American bison.I drilled holes on the hour markers from 3 to 9 for leather laces. Turkey feathers are affixed with thread and copper wire. I mixed purpleheart wood shavings and glue to make the beads. The hands are silver and white with a turquoise chip in the center.

Purpleheart wood shavings
Hmmm... what can I do with these beautiful wood sha-vings? I know. Mix them with a little glue and make beads out of them.
Handmade beads from shavings
On the right you will find the purple-heart beads. When still wet, I was nervous because they looked a little too much like bisonburger to use on a sacred buffalo clock!
Standard wooden beads with turquoise and coral chips inlaid
This is a less time-intensive alternative. I just took standard wooden beads and added turquoise and coral chips. You can also see the smaller purpleheart bead in this photo. On the turquoise circumference, you can more easily see the arrowhead minute markers.
